Rising from the ashes of Long Island’s short-lived, but so amazing HEADS Vs. BREAKERS and THE BACK UP PLAN, TAKE MY CHANCES are probably one of the most promising new bands around. As expected “Down Here With Us” is all about melodic hardcore. Due to Gallup’s angry, yet often melodic vocals this disc surely brings back the vibes of HEADS Vs. BREAKERS, but TAKE MY CHANCES are audibly faster and a hint rawer. FASTBREAK at their “Fast Cars, Fast Women” era are a pretty good comparison, still TAKE MY CHANCES are way more melodic and the songs a hint more diverse. The opening “Maximum Extreme Part 2” is a ridiculously fast, super short hardcore-ripper in the vein of KID DYNAMITE.
