Cheap Stuff - Kings & Pawns LP
"Sometimes we suck, sometimes we rock" - self-claimed understatement by CHEAP STUFF.
Fiddlesticks! On "Kings & Pawns" the band has their own, their very particular Coming Out: The power of U.S. BOMBS at their "War Birth" phase, the drive which made the sound of BOMBSHELL ROCKS so special at the turn of the millennium and nearly a variety like RANCID did on "Life Won't Wait".
CHEAP STUFF walk in the middle between these three cornerstones, 13 new songs of the Dresden based band.
Songs which deal with personal problems, the up and downs of normal peoples life, criticism of our daily consumption and, of course, songs which look forward to better days.
None of these songs sounds like the song before.
A few guest musicians brought their very own talent to this album such as Sucker (OXYMORON, BAD CO. PROJECT), Emil (MINUS HOPE), Big Al (DUFFERPIT,MASORATI,...), Hans (STRONGBOW, FOIERKNÜPPEL) or members of the Ska-, Soul & Rocksteady bands BIG BULLET ALLSTARS and BOBBY PINS AND THE SALOON SOLDIERS.
Also mentioned the help of Ray van Zeschau (FREUNDE DER ITALIENISCHEN OPER - a legendary east-german avantgarde-punkband, RAY AND THE ROCKETS ).
